Churchill Theatre

The brief

The client recognised the Churchill Theatre to be a complex building with some unusual barriers to access, they wanted guidance on how they could improve access for all at the theatre.

Our approach

  • We carried out a Walk & Talk Access Review of the theatre with a focus on access for both disabled patrons and for disabled actors
  • We increased the learning and developed the confidence of key members of staff to maximise access across the theatre for a wide range of disabled people
  • We delivered findings and practical recommendations in a detailed report, giving a priority rating for each recommendation including an Action Plan template tailored to the organisation.

What the client said

"I was really thrilled that GCL were working with us on this venue, their help and support moving forward has been priceless.

The report was well received by the team, it has enabled us to put together a time frame for making changes; we assessed which action points in the report could be easily tackled straight away and which ones were longer term projects. We are all now really keen to start ticking off the changes/improvements."
